INTRODUCTION
Do not be afraid of the giants,
all they can do is intimidate you.
They are nothing but a defeated foe,
shadows who are no more.
I GO BEFORE YOU AS A CONSUMING FIRE - OUR WARRIOR
How the failures, abuse, and enemies of the past sometimes haunt us. As big mountains, they loom over us ominously; intimidating us and making us feel like nothing but grasshoppers. Making us cower and think we are not good enough, not strong enough, not capable. And on our own, we really can not.
But who can be against us, when God is for us? Do you not know He goes before us as a consuming fire? Truly, we have already won, for He has gone before us as our mighty warrior. He has defeated all our enemies. On the cross, Yeshua secured victory over the Kingdom of darkness and sin. No more do they have the authority to do us harm. All authority was given to Yeshua, to our Messiah.
For those walking in Christ, all the enemy has left is to intimidate. They are nothing more but a shadow. A shadow of the past. And Abba does not consult our past mistakes to determine the future. "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." says Isaiah 43: 19 (NIV).
Also further we are promised in Psalm 23: 4-5 (NIV): "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over."
They are nothing but shadows, trying to intimidate us to cower though they hold no more power. This new season will be different, they are no longer part of your portion. They will not come to the promised land with thee.
CONCLUSION
Abba will not consult your past when determining your future. If He promised you, He will secure the victory ahead. He goes before us as a consuming fire and all we need to do is obediently follow.
Application
Dear Heavenly Father, my Protector, my Warrior. Thank you for always going before me as the consuming fire. Thank you for never abandoning me, never forsaking me. And for never consulting my past when determining my future.
