AN UNEXPECTED SAVIOR

The temperature was at a cool 30 degrees Celsius, and a light breeze was caressing the cheeks of every passerby. Among them was Victor, strolling through the vacant, rather deserted streets alongside his neighbor. Their objective? Walking the dog. His neighbor, Jack, just got a brand new puppy named Cookie, and playing with him was a great joy for Victor.
They had been near the lake, taking a bit of a swim. Now they were ready to retire for lunch, steadily moving toward their houses. Jack stopped in his tracks all of a sudden, realizing he had forgotten his ball. Turning around, he sprinted back, saying to Victor, he will catch up to him soon.
Victor, for a moment, contemplated waiting, taking in the breathtaking sights around him. Deciding to continue anyway, he rounded the corner only to be met with the most comical sight imagined. It was as if someone took it straight from the television.
A cat was sprinting straight toward him, nearly crashing into him. At the last second, it pivoted to the left, with its prey - a tiny little mouse - turning right. Regrouping, the cat made one more attempt, but the mouse managed to find safety in the tall grass.
Tom and Jerry, anyone? Well, Victor sure thought of it and chuckled with glee, realizing he ended up being an unexpected savior to that little mouse. What a once, maybe twice, in a lifetime occurrence.
His line of thought was cut off when he was joined once more by his neighbor and Cookie. He kept the amazing occurrence to himself and simply marveled at the power of animals. 2 hours spent with Cookie and this odd occurrence, and he felt refreshed and replenished like never before.
Animals are amazing, and can be awesome companions. No wonder God had created them.
And not just animals, but all His creations are so uniquely and wonderfully made and designed by the Grand Designer behind all life.
‘And that includes me too’, thought Victor, puzzled as to why he was dwelling on such thoughts to begin with. But there is no better time than now to admire and praise the Creator of all.
O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
Here is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great.
— Psalm 104:24-25 (ESV)
His awesomeness just makes us stop in our tracks every once in a while.
