AUTHORITY

INTRODUCTION

Authors have authority over what they write. They are usually an expert in their field of expertise. Or at the very least they are more knowledgeable than the reader. Christian books hold great authority too. We can even impart spiritual gifts or anointing to someone through books and break heavy yokes off them. And at the end of the day, they convey knowledge, and revelation on a certain subject that can save lives. 

AUTHORITY 

Elon Musk has been known to question regulations and instructions when building His rockets and cars. His goal has been to simplify every step of the manufacturing process and lower the cost of production. His methods of work have been known to be chaotic and explosive. And they got things done. 

While reading the book I had a sense that Mr. Elon Musk sometimes likes to be a bit of a rebel at least when it comes to regulations he deems unnecessary. As we all are probably tempted. Nonetheless, he honors authority and obeys the laws when necessary. 

Authority is here to bring order to society. It is a function, not a person. It is meant to bring good to all. (1)

Per Max Weber, there are three types of authority out there:

• traditional authority: people honor someone because it has been a tradition for a long time. An example is the Royal family in Britain.

• Legal-Rational Authority: someone is being followed and honored because the laws and rules claim they have to be. Like the President of any country.

• Charismatic Authority: people are drawn to someone because of their special qualities or abilities. Like Elon Musk himself. (2)

KINGDOM AUTHORITY

For us believers, there is one more type of authority we need to acknowledge - kingdom authority. The authority Yeshua has delegated to us over all powers of the kingdom of darkness. 

For authority to be delegated, there needs to be testing and trial. James Goll does say that sometimes God gives someone an anointing they need to grow into. But for the most part, God tests us through human authority before He releases us into the new. 

AUTHORITY, BOOKS AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS

Books and other pieces of writing hold authority over the area they speak about. Regulations and rules are all written down, charismatic authority is often spread through books, blogs, and social media. Even traditional authority usually has its influence spread through the media. 

Kingdom authority can be spread through books and other publications too. We can impart spiritual gifts and anointing upon another through these books and writings. After all, even nowadays God uses the Bible to bring revelation, quicken our spirit with His hidden manna, and bring joy and revelation to us all. 

And through reading His word or other by the Holy Spirit-inspired publications we get our minds renewed and our faith and spirits strengthened. And we in so become equipped with the necessary strength to overcome. 

SUMMARIZING

There are different types of authority: traditional, legal-rational, charismatic, and kingdom. Their influences can be spread through books and publications. That can especially be said about kingdom authority. We can impart spiritual gifts and anointing upon another through these books and writings and in general through the Bible we are inspired and strengthened daily.
