HE CAME TO FULFILL - BURIAL, RESURRECTION, AND ASCENSION: IN THE BELLY OF THE FISH

The Bible is full of prophecies, yet perhaps one of the most outstanding is the one about the Messiah rising back from the dead after three days.
This prophecy was fulfilled by Yeshua HaMashiach (Matthew 12:40; NIV). Jonah spent three days and nights in the belly of a fish as a prophetic sign of the death and resurrection of the future Messiah.

Jonah was too self-absorbed in his delivery of God's message to Nineveh. He thought the people of Nineveh were worthless. And the Pharisees felt that way towards Yeshua, too. They did not recognize Him as the Messiah, the prophesied King.
Yet Jonah, in the end, after spending three days and nights in the belly of a fish, was repentant enough that He went to Nineveh and delivered the message. Despite still having character flaws, God used Jonah and preserved his life. He showed Him love, mercy, and patience while building his character.
It is so with every single one of us who are in Christ, and I believe it will be so with Israel in the last days, too. Despite their reluctance to recognize Yeshua as Messiah, in the end, they will return to their true King, and He will receive them with open arms.
