Moses was asked to smear the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and threshold of their dwelling places. That way, death did not enter their abodes; instead, God came and dwelt with them.
Yeshua’s blood was shed similarly. It was spilled on the threshold of God’s dwelling place. Now all who enter into God’s Kingdom ae forgiven of their sins as written in Romans 5: 8-9 (NIV).

A covenant of hospitality is a common practice in the Middle East even nowadays. When one is expected to receive a guest, they sacrifice an animal and pour out its blood on the threshold of their house.
When the guest steps over that threshold, they enter into a covenant of hospitality. The owner of the house makes sure they are well provided for. All that is theirs suddenly becomes yours if you so wish for it. And they are willing to protect their guest even unto death.
When we step over the threshold of God’s dwelling place into His Kingdom, all that we need is provided for. From sustenance all the way to protection.
