HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: AFFLICTED

Messiah was to be afflicted beyond imagination. Greatly, He was to suffer at the hands of the wicked. Yeshua, as a lamb, was led into slaughter. Silently He endured it all at the cross so that we would be forgiven as mentioned in Matthew 27: 27-31 (NIV). 

Yeshua willingly died for our sins. He willingly endured a horrifying death for us. Though He could have called for angels to come to His aid, He chose to lay down His life. 

“Lay Me Down” is a famous Christian song by Chris Tomlin. To put it shortly, it speaks of fully laying down pride, our own rights, our own plans, and fully submitting to God. As the song reminds us, we do not belong to ourselves but to God. Let us lie down. Let His plans prosper above ours.
