Lonesome was to be the Messiah’s death. It was prophesied that His own family would stand at a distance and watch Him slowly die.
Crucifixion was a public death intended to bring great shame, humiliation, disgrace, and the greatest amount of pain. And if that was not enough, people who loved you and once nurtured you got to watch you die an agonizingly slow and painful death as confirmed in Luke 23: 48-49 (NIV).

There are some things in life we need to endure alone with only God by our side. Yeshua had to experience loneliness so we would be healed from it. And in like manner, there may be seasons where we are isolated for God’s refining to take place.
But even if alone in the physical, we are never alone in the spiritual. We have Abba, our brothers and sisters in faith, and God's faithful angels always beside us. But we need to have faith to see it. Let us shift our focus to what God is doing.
