Messiah was to be cut off from the land of the living. Killed for the transgressions of all men. Yeshua’s blood was spilled onto the floor for the forgiveness of all men as mentioned in Matthew 27: 25 (NIV).

The expression cut off means killed. Yeshua was killed for our sins. He suffered the worst kind of betrayal, one done by His friend. And for what? Some silver. What will a man gain if he gains the whole world, yet loses His soul?
Judas may have thought he would gain something by betraying Jesus. Perhaps he thought he would gain favor with the Sanhedrin beyond just the 30 pieces of silver. Either way, it mattered little. For, in the end, it cost him his soul.
Many things in this world can cut us off from the land of the living. And where is life? It is with God. That is where life is - with God. Agreement with the world is enmity with God. Those things and habits are what are keeping us cut off from even greater things He has for us. Let Him guide us in our journey to discover what needs to be removed and what can stay.
