HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: LIKE A WORM

Messiah will be rejected, despised, abused, and treated as a worm. Treated as though He is less than a man.

“Why are you prosecuting me? I am less than a worm,” said David to Saul, who persecuted him. He saw himself as less than a worm. His seed multiple years later, was treated as less than a worm. He was beaten, bruised, mocked and spit upon as it is detailed in Matthew 27: 28-31 (NIV). 

This hatred we might get to experience, too. When treated as such, let us remember what Yeshua said in John 15: 18-19 (NIV), "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

It will be hard, but the One who has begun the journey of faith in us is faithful to finish it. He will empower us. Let us forgive them, rejoice, and be glad that the persecution allows us to glorify God right there in front of them. Let God put His words in our mouths to speak and bring light to this world full of darkness.
