HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: PUT TO GRIEF

It was prophesied that God would delight in putting to grief the Messiah for the sins of the world. God delighted in punishing Yeshua instead of us. He was delighted to know how many would be saved by Yeshua drinking this cup, as stated in John 18:11 (NIV). And He delighted even more in knowing He would be risen once more.

While it may always confound us greatly as to why it pleased God to bruise and punish His son for our sake, one thing can be said about it: it glorified Him and vindicated Him. For centuries, probably millennia, Satan was accusing God of being uncaring toward His own.

Taking all iniquity upon Himself vindicated Him. He loved us that much. He needed to prepare a path for those willing to change. Great was His mercy. For if He struck the wicked back then, He would have had to kill us all. So instead He died for our sins, the sins of those who believe in Him, and when He comes the second time, He comes to judge and take His rightful place.
