HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: STRIPPED

Messiah was to be stripped of His clothes. The soldiers were to cast lots for His garments. Even sexual shaming Yeshua endured for our sake. And on top of that, they gambled for His clothes as confirmed in Matthew 27: 35 (NIV).

A coat represented everything that man was and everything He owned. Their stripping Yeshua of His coat meant stripping Him of His very social identity. It was a dehumanizing and shaming act, a brutal act of stripping away one’s dignity.
And here was Yeshua being exposed to the world, though He was sinless. Still, He did it for us, so that we would not have to experience this ourselves. So that all who believe will be clothed in Him - his forgiveness, his love, His blood, and His glory, instead of our shame.
