JUST IN TIME

A cold blue flash ran through the sky. Quickly following was a loud and low grumbling sound. A thunder.
Two signals of the inevitable coming. Afterward, there was a certain serene calm. The calm before the great storm. Not even 5 minutes later, a heavy torrent of rain began to batter every window, door, tree, and the very earth upon which all stand. The calmness was all but gone as the rush of scurrying feet with the occasional splash permeated the air. People did not have enough time to get back inside.
Archie and his owner, on the other hand, did not get time to even go outside. All dressed up was Archie in his see-through raincoat with slippers on his feet. Just when they were to step outside, the rain started to fall. After making about five steps, they quickly darted back inside when rain began to fall in full fury.
Archie was not a scaredy-cat, but he was not a fan of such weather either. It was best they stayed inside for the time being, at least until it stopped raining so heavily. Luckily, his human was smart enough to see such wisdom.
If only Archie’s bladder could agree, too. Archie’s initial happiness quickly faded and gave way to anxiety and impatience. Hopefully, the rain will subside soon.
The patient wait began. With each passing minute, Archie’s bladder was feeling more and more full. His initial discomfort soon led to extreme fidgeting.
Archie was starting to worry he would pee inside, when the rain suddenly began to subside. Almost as though some great power from above noticed his desperate need. Soon our little furry friend and his human friend went on a walk under a sunny sky. And to boot it all there was a big rainbow up in the sky.
You provide streams of water
in the hills and valleys,
so that the donkeys
and other wild animals
can satisfy their thirst.
Birds build their nests nearby
and sing in the trees.
From your home above
you send rain on the hills
and water the earth.
You let the earth produce
grass for cattle,
plants for our food,
wine to cheer us up,
olive oil for our skin,
and grain for our health.
