YAHWEH, MY PROTECTOR - ABIDING UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

Updated: Jul 29

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 91: 1 (NIV)

Under the wing of the Almighty

(1)

INTRODUCTION

The Lord is our Mighty protector;

In Him, we can rest and respite find,

even if storms are raging outside.

In His presence protection we find.

He is our Shelter, our Refuge,

and our shadow from the heat and life’s grind.

UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

My protector - always by my side you are,

my shelter and refuge from any fall.

In you, rest, and respite can be found

coverage from any storm that may abound.

The enemy may plot and ploy. It may seem as though life turned its back on us. But despite all the hardship and strife, there is one we can always rely on. Our God is our refuge or shelter from the storm. When we turn our focus towards Him, worry flees and our peace is restored. What can we do if we worry anyway? Didn't Yeshua in Luke 12: 25-26 have the following to say?

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Luke 12: 25-26 (NIV)

Worrying has never solved any problem at all, instead at times, it may have led many to fall. Instead of worrying we should turn to God. Our Mighty Protector shielding us from the dark. When persecuted or suffering greatly, in His presence we will be protected.

Even if we find ourselves in the desert where the sun beats down on us, under His shadow we will rest from the heat and dust. We are in His hands firmly, who from His love can take me or thee?

The Lord is my shelter

It is said in Romans 8: 35-37 (NIV), “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake, we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Nothing can separate us from Him,

nothing can His love for us dim.

So run to Him when in need,

run to Him to be freed.

CONCLUSION

The Lord is our Refuge and Shelter from the storm. He is our shadow from the heat of the day. In His presence rest and respite, we find. With Him protection from the night.

Application

Thank you, Abba for being my respite. Thank you for being my Refuge, Shelter for the night.
