HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: SMITTEN BY GOD

Those who were to see the Messiah suffering were to think He was being smitten, stricken by God for His own sin.
Yeshua was considered a sinner worthy of death. All thought He was suffering for His sins.

People thought Yeshua was suffering for His own sins, though He was sinless. He suffered a horrible death on the cross for our sake, not unlike Job. Job was blameless (not sinless, mind you), and yet He suffered the loss of everything. His friends tried to reason with him, indicating he must have done something to suffer such a fate. Yet Job knew he did not commit the kind of sins that would warrant such horrible suffering.
Job became bitter with God and started to see himself as more righteous. And that sin stood in the way of His restoration. When he finally saw God as the great and righteous judge and his covenant blood brother, everything was restored to him double.
God does not treat us by our works; He treats us according to the covenant. Satan can bring evil upon the undeserving, but he is limited in what he can do. At the end of the day, the Creator of all is the sovereign authority in charge. Realize who you are in covenant with and resist the devil. He will flee.
