HE CAME TO FULFILL - COMMISSIONING AND MINISTRY: HE WILL EXALT THE LAW

PROPHECY 82

Messiah was to give the true meaning of the law. And He was to come to fulfill it. Yeshua did so as stated in Matthew 5: 17-20 (NIV).

FUFLILLMENT 82

Even as many great men did before, I, far from being great, too have stumbled at the true interpretation of Matthew 5: 17. Some among Christians claim that the law is fulfilled and so does not need to be followed. That interpretation always bothered me.

The truth is that the Greek word pleeroo, translated as “to fulfill,” can mean either to complete or to fill to the full. Yeshua did not come to abolish or destroy the law. In other words, He did not come to abrogate the law and set men free from their obligation to the law. He came to fill it to the full - to exalt it. He expanded our understanding of God's law by showing that we must obey the spirit of the law as well as the letter.

He gave the correct interpretation of the law and, most importantly, ushered in the era of grace by which we can now do all things through Yeshua, who strengthens us. As His disciples, it is His teachings we should follow. He is our example, the door, and the way. By following Him, we will enter the Kingdom of the Most High. And it is not by our own righteousness but by His. And not through our own strength but His. And through His victory at Calvary, we shall accomplish all we are called to accomplish here on Earth.
