HE CAME TO FULFILL - COMMISSIONING AND MINISTRY: THE POOR OF THE FLOCK KNEW

The common people were to know who the Messiah was. They were to recognize Him and follow Him. It was to them that the Messiah was to reveal Himself. 

Yeshua was recognized as the Messiah by the poor of the flock as confirmed in Matthew 21: 9 (NIV). 

The poor of the flock had the revelation of Yeshua as Messiah, even though some of the religious leaders did not. Some of the ones who did not study the Torah as their profession beheld the answer, the revelation, yet some of the ones who did thought they knew better.

With the foolish, I will confound the wise. They thought they knew better and fell into pride. The flock, on the other hand, was humble. They may not have understood, but they knew He was the Messiah. He revealed Himself to them. And as we know, the humble shall be exalted and the arrogant humbled.
