Abraham’s journey, as already mentioned, was not without some mishaps. While waiting upon the Lord for the promised heir, Sarah grew anxious and weary. She suggested that Abraham conceive a baby with her slave/bondwoman Hagai. Seduced by her, Abraham conceived Ishmael. But he was not the promised heir. Many years later, the Lord visited them, and Sarah was healed. She bore a son and named him Isaac. He was chosen as the forefather through whom the promise would be birthed, as says Romans 9: 7 (KJV). (1)

No word or promise from God ever returns void to Him. Yet some can take years and sometimes even generations to manifest. With Israel, it took many centuries and millennials. God needed to perfect man through the lineage of Abraham. He tested and tried them. He kept teaching them and made them go through lots of purification. It required time. But then finally came the appointed time, and Yeshua was born. The promised seed to whom all belongs.
Are you waiting for something? A promise to manifest, perhaps? Remain faithful in believing. Keep trusting God and let Him prepare you to be at the level necessary to receive the promise. As it is written in Habbakuk 2: 3 (KJV), »For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.« God is faithful, and He will bring it to pass.
In the meantime, ask Him what steps you are to take, as you stand firmly believing it is already done.
