Adam toiled and toiled but Earth produced only thistles and thorns. As Yahweh decreed and declared in concequence to their rebellion. But that was not the only bad news. Their firstborn child, Cain, killed his brother Abel.
The initial sin they committed not only cost Adam and Eve their immortality, it cost them also their authority over the earth. The Nahash now had the authority over Earth and he established it’s kingdom of darkness, death and destruction.
Through His influence He managed to pull even some stars from the sky. These stars were none other than the watchers who choose to lower their nature in order to have human wifes. This brought in a corruption of great proportions.
Mankind gradually started to become more and more corrupt. Though Yahweh brought an end to this through the great flood, it only lasted for so long. Men were now tainted. They needed a Savior, which Yahweh was Himself more than aware of. And so He came, the bruiser of Satan's head, in the body of a man as stated in Hebrews 2: 14-15 (NIV). (1)

He took the responsibility of saving mankind upon His shoulders. Satan managed to bruise His heel when His body was crucified on the cross, yet through the very same action, flesh was put to death. The very same flesh that has been seducing men to act against the will of God.
Flesh is in enmity with God, while the spirit that is within each one of us desires to act by God’s ways. Each day, we can choose whether to listen to the flesh or the spirit. Our born-again spirit, which is now merged with the Holy Spirit, is empowered to overcome anything that stands in our way. But still, as with all else, it is by free will.
