HE CAME TO FULFILL - NATIVITY: THE GOD OF SHEM

Adam knew God, and he taught his sons and daughters about Him. When his time came, the royal priesthood he carried was passed down to his son Seth. So it went on and on for a short while until it was passed from Noah onto Shem. The King of Salem himself per the theory of some. (1)

Of course, I am talking about none other than the priesthood of the order of Melchizedek. Priests from this order were known to be righteous before God and ministers to the nations they ruled over. The God of Shem is none other than Yahweh. (1)

Yeshua was a descendant of Shem as can be seen from the extensive genealogy in the Bible in Luke 3:34-36 (NIV). (2)

Though the priesthood laid dormant for many centuries, it did not die out. With Yeshua, it was resurrected back. Once more a righteous King arose to minister to His people as the royal priest He was destined to be.

And now all who believe in Him and walk in fellowship with Him have become a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2: 9). Sons and daughters of the Most High. We are His representatives. We are meant to lead with our righteous behavior and, in doing so, be the light of the world and minister to the people according to God’s will.
