HE CAME TO FULFILL - NATIVITY: THE PROMISED LAMB

Abraham was asked to take His promised son and sacrifice Him unto the Lord. Though he may have been uncertain what was about to take place, Abraham went onward in obedience. He believed God would provide. Faith moved him and empowered Him to do the good work of faith and obedience. And God did provide, says John 1: 29 (KJV). (1)

When we obey, God always answers. Only faith moves Abba—faith in who we are in Him and who He is to us. We do because we are His beloved children. We do not do it to become his children. If we do it to become, that is not faith; it is dead works. (2)

But then again, if we do not do, we are not walking in true faith either. True faith gives birth to good deeds and fruit. Just as it did with Abraham and as it will with you and me. 

Abraham moved, and God provided him with a ram. A foreshadowing of the upcoming sacrifice of His only begotten Son - the promised lamb who took away our sins.
