In His Perfect Image
 

The Lord revealed that His graciousness would be extended to all men one day. Forgiven we would be for our sins, released from having to pay the death penalty. 

A period of seventy weeks was determined for Israel to finish her transgressions. There is an appointed time for everything. If Yahweh decrees, it comes to pass.

The expression Son of God has a dual meaning. In the Old Testament, it usually represents the Bene-Elohim. It can also speak of humans who are close to God.

Messiah was to be a well-loved and beloved Son of God. God was never to withdraw His love from Him. Through Him, we have become daughters and sons of God as well.

Messiah was to be begotten by God. And it came to be when Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, and Yeshua was born 9 months later at the beginning of Sukkot.

For all accounts, Yeshua should not have amounted to anything. Nothing good ever came from Nazareth. Yet Yeshua arose from an unfruitful place - dry ground.

Yeshua brought forth the new exodus. Grace was released upon us all through His finished work on the cross—grace to accomplish the law through His Spirit.

Israel was to be led into Egypt, and once ready, He was to be called out. Yeshua fulfilled this prophetic image. His life was threatened, so Joseph fled to Egypt.

In an attempt to kill Yeshua, the future King, Herod had two whole male generations wiped out. There was much lamentation and weeping over the senseless deaths.

Every name carries a certain authority, especially the names of prominent individuals. Authority is a function that gives one the right to govern and exercise power.

Yeshua was the visible image of the invisible God. In the image of the Son He came to shed light on God's image. To put a face on Him and lead people back to God.

The Messiah was to be David's son and the Son of God. King David himself called Him LORD. He was to be fully human yet also fully divine—God in human flesh.

Messiah would be higher than the kings of the Earth; He would be God's firstborn. The Greek word prototokos was used, which means “first in importance or priority.”

God is faithful; He does not lie. None of His words ever return to Him void. I will say, though, that He is also faithful to correct, educate, and discipline us.

Total obedience, even unto death, was required to secure the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus' body was broken so that we could be forgiven. We are all parts of His body.

When we obey, God answers. Only faith moves Him. Abraham moved, and God provided him with a ram. A foreshadowing of the upcoming sacrifice of the promised lamb

Yeshua is from before the beginning of time - eternal. Time, per some, was created by the Word when He began creating the world according to the Father's orders.

When Yeshua rose back from the dead, all authority was given to Him on Earth and in Heaven. He is the topmost branch, the King above all Kings—the King of eternity.

From His conception in His mother’s womb, the Messiah was called to be the Savior of the world and chosen for a mighty task. One, He alone could fulfill.

Abraham was promised to become a great nation. His obedience and faithfulness gave birth to that promise. He did become a blessing to all families on Earth.
